Adjustment Layers & Filters
What are adjustment layers?
- A group of super useful, non-destructive image editing tool that adds colour and tonal adjustment to your image
without altering original pixels.
- Can edit and discard your adjustments, or restore original image at any time.
1. Brightness / Contrast
- Makes adjustments to the tonal range of your image.
2. Level
- modify the tonal values in an image by adjusting the levels of the shadows, midtones, and highlights.
3. Curves
- Allows you to adjust as many points as you want throughout the entire tonal range of your image.
4. Exposure
- Lets you adjust exposure levels with three slider options : Exposure, Offset, and Gamma
5. Selective Colour
- Selectively modifies the amount of a primary color without modifying the other primary colors in your image.
Filters -
What is a Filter?
- There are filters to change colour, add blur or create completely new image effects. Photoshop offers a virtually unlimited variety of filters for this purpose.

In the class, we finished up our 3 digital collages, and were briefed on our assignment for week 4, which consists of a few tasks, all relating to photoshop - one being a practice on removing backgrounds and editing seamlessly; Hearst Mansion exercise, and another one being an edit of our own portrait.

- Started off doing the composition, however the first attempt was too bright and my reflection was off.

- The second try was okay but now became abit to dark and less pronounced.

- Followed the youtube tutorial and came up with this first try.
Final Outcome :
- Felt I could do better so I tweaked the colours and made the masks more accurate and natural.
