Project 2

In this project, we are tasked to produce a trailer based on scenes from 'Everything, Everywhere, All At Once' in a group; where we split up our work between the relevant jobs, much like a real life production.

Process

After filming, the first step was planning how to arrange the clips to create a whole new story line for the trailer -

- Organised the clips in the order I wanted, to convey the story of my action-based trailer
- Chose effects (text, overlays, animation) to enhance the flow / storytelling / design of the trailer

Text (Typeface : Gill Sans Std) - Bold and Intense

Text (Typeface : Trattatello) - Contrasting and Mysterious

Glitch effect

Text animation

- Added sound effects and voice overs to the trailer
- Adjusted sounds accordingly to have db between -6 and -20

 - Colour corrected the scenes

Reflection

Experience :

In this project, we had to make a trailer with a story that did not relate with the original clips context, which was an interesting exercise as I haven't had to make a storyline or create compelling storytelling content in a while, and it was my first time making a trailer. Having seen many trailers before, this felt somewhat familiar and intuitive, identifying the different parts to include in the trailer to make it engaging and thrilling - to create anticipation. Working with Premier Pro for this project became easier and more comfortable to use, however I'm still figuring out how to use it more efficiently and find out more tools to utilise to enhance video editing.
