Double Exposure & Image Blending Mode
What is Double Exposure in Photography?
- Refers to merging of multiple images
- Goal is to make them surreal, emotional, or humourous, and usually feature silhouettes
How to create the effect :
1. Using the Tilt-Shift effect
- Filter > Blur Gallery > Tilt-Shift.
2. Create a Fake Reflection
- Create a double exposure photo with the help of a separate window photo
3. Experiment with simple portraits and detailed textures
4. Convert your results to Black & White
- A lack of colour will strenghten emotion
5. Work with Silhouette
6. Picking 2 Random Photos
7. Make simple objects look fascination
8. Use shadows

In the class, we watched a tutorial on how to do a double exposure exercise, to familiarise ourselves with double exposure, which we will then apply to our own picture to create our own composition.

At first, I has my first attempt at this exercise, however it was not accurate / equal in the reflected trees region, so I redid it.

Part 2 - Double Exposure Exercise (Ourselves) :
In this exercise where we had to use ourselves as the subject, my pose looked as if i was leaning on something, which gave me the idea for something big - like a mountain. I then continued to add a moon and galaxy to keep in theme with the nature / environment. I added a gradient map and made it blue because this composition felt quite dark and cool - hence blue.
